Stan Stanford
performs and conducts workshops
throughout the United States and
Europe. In Oregon, he has performed
with the Britt and Bloch Festivals.
His special interest is chamber music.
Stanford completed a Master of Music
degree in Germany and a Doctor of
Musical Arts degree at the University of Oregon.
At Portland State University, he is Professor of Clarinet and
past Chair of the Department of Music. He also performs with
Ensemble Viento, the resident faculty woodwind quintet. An
avid collector of phonograph discs, Stanford recently produced
a CD of early clarinet recordings, entitled The Acoustic Era,
Clarinet Recordings (1898-1918).
