This CD is compiled from live recordings presented between 1993-2001, and in places, you can hear the usual audience sounds. At its center, music is about being human. The presence of people on this recording attests to that.
It is more than a solo voice in the night. At times the intrusion of a particularly prominent cough may be distracting, but it cannot diminish the voices of these great composers. The audience sounds remind us that geniuses wrote this music, pianists perform it, and audiences listen to it. We all need each other.
